ATTACHMENT 2 <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> I. SERVICE OVERVIEW <br /> The mission of the City of Pleasanton's paratransit program(Pleasanton Paratransit Service, or <br /> PPS) is to provide safe and reliable transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities <br /> so as to improve their access to community services and activities, to decrease their experience <br /> of social isolation, and to enhance their abilities to remain living independently in their chosen <br /> communities. <br /> PPS is designed to supplement and complement the ADA-mandated services provided by the <br /> Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA). PPS provides the following services to <br /> eligible ambulatory and non-ambulatory program participants: <br /> • Door-to-Door Transportation <br /> • Shuttle Service (to be installed at a time to be determined later in the contract) <br /> Program parameters outlined in the scope of services apply to services beginning January 1,2020. <br /> A. Door-to-Door Transportation <br /> PPS provides wheelchair accessible,door-to-door transportation to and from destinations within <br /> the City of Pleasanton, and to limited locations in the adjoining area, such as specific medical <br /> facilities in Dublin, Livermore and San Ramon for: <br /> a) City residents who are 70 years old and older,and <br /> b) City residents who are ADA paratransit eligible. <br /> Riders can purchase vouchers (punch cards) through the CITY or OPERATOR. The <br /> OPERATOR will manage the voucher (punch card) process and all rider payment options will <br /> go through the OPERATOR. <br /> Riders can schedule trips from one to three days in advance. Riders may not request same day <br /> trip service. Rides are reserved on a first come, first served basis; trip requests are <br /> accommodated based on vehicle availability.Rider requests for standing orders must be directed <br /> to the OPERATOR for approval and scheduling. The CITY may impose reservation restrictions <br /> at any point it deems necessary. For example,the CITY may allow medical trips to be reserved <br /> up to seven days in advance while non-medical trips may be restricted to three days advance <br /> reservation. <br /> In the event that a program participant does not have pre-paid vouchers, a $3.50 cash fare ($4 <br /> for out of town trips)will be collected for the one-way trip. Program participants may purchase <br /> pre-paid vouchers; no passenger fare is to be collected by drivers when pre-paid vouchers are <br /> used. <br />
