EXHIBIT A <br /> TITLE 18 <br /> ZONING <br /> CHAPTER 18.08 DEFINITIONS <br /> 18.08.016 Accessory dwelling units. <br /> "Accessory dwelling unit"means an attached or a detached residential dwelling unit which provides <br /> complete independent living facilities for one or more persons and is located on a lot with one or more <br /> proposed or existing primary residences. It shall include permanent provisions for living, sleeping, <br /> eating, cooking, and sanitation on the same lot as the one-family dwelling is situated. An accessory <br /> dwelling unit also includes the following: <br /> A. An efficiency unit,as defined in Section 17958.1 of the California Health and Safety Code. <br /> B. A manufactured home, as defined in Section 18007 of the California Health and Safety Code.(Ord. <br /> 2161 § 1,2017) <br /> 18.08.268 Junior accessory dwelling units. <br /> "Junior accessory dwelling unit"means an area not exceeding 500 square feet in size excluding any <br /> shared sanitation facility with the primary residential unit that is entirely contained within the space <br /> of an existing detached residential dwelling unit. It shall include its own separate interior and exterior <br /> entrances, sink,cooking appliance,counter surface,and storage cabinets that meet minimum building <br /> code standards. The cooking facility shall have appliances that do not require electrical service greater <br /> than 120 volts,or natural or propane gas. The junior accessory unit may share a bathroom with the <br /> existing residential dwelling unit or may have its own bathroom.(Ord. 2161 § 1,2017) <br /> CHAPTER 18.28 A AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT <br /> 18.28.030 Permitted uses. <br /> The following uses shall be permitted in the A district: <br /> One family dwellings,accessory dwelling and junior accessory dwelling <br /> units. Accessory dwelling and junior accessory dwelling units shall meet the requirements in <br /> Chapter 18.106 of this title. <br /> P20-0412,Accessory Dwelling Units Planning Commission,July 8, 2020 <br /> Exhibit A, PMC Amendments, Page 1 <br />, 18.44, 18.84, <br /> and 18.106 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to comply with state legislation for <br /> accessory dwelling units, as shown in Exhibit A to this resolution. <br /> Section 2: This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and <br /> adoption. <br />Section 21080.17 and <br /> categorically exempt per CEQA Guidelines Section 15303. <br /> SUMMARY/CONCLUSION <br /> The proposed text amendments will facilitate the development of ADUs and bring the PMC into <br /> compliance with State law.
