The project could also be eligible for a NEPA Categorical Exclusion. This option can be evaluated when additional design information becomes available. CONSULTANT will prepare the administrative drafts and draft Environmental Document(ED) for Caltrans and CITY's review and approval, assist with circulation of the document, and respond to comments in the final ED. CONSULTANT proposes that CITY and Caltrans review the ED concurrently for efficiency. The assumed number of reviews is detailed below. Subtask 6.2 -Identify Required Permits and Approvals The project is expected to require the following approvals in order for Caltrans to sign the final environmental document: • USFWS formal consultation • FHWA project-level air quality conformity determination • SHPO concurrence on Caltrans' findings with regard to cultural resources under the Section 106 Programmatic Agreement Caltrans will coordinate these approvals by submitting the Biological Assessment, air quality reports, and cultural resources reports prepared under Task 4 to the USFWS, FHWA, and SHPO,respectively.
