7
THE CITY OF
11.1
' :••• CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLEASANTONt
June 16, 2020
Community Development
Traffic Engineering
TITLE: AMEND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH AECOM
TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC., FOR A NEW TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $1,721,824, FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF DESIGN FOR
THE SUNOL INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 15551
SUMMARY
On April 19, 2018, the City of Pleasanton entered into a consultant contract with
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. (AECOM) to prepare Project Initiation Documents
(PID) for the I-680/Sunol Interchange Improvement project. In late January 2020,
Caltrans approved the PID. The next phase of the process is Project Approval &
Environmental Document (PA&ED). Staff is satisfied with AECOM's work on the PID
and recommends an amendment to their consulting contract for PA&ED services.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Approve the attached Amendment to the Design Professional Services Agreement
(Attachment 1) between the City of Pleasanton and AECOM Technical Services,
Inc., to include Project Approval & Environmental Document (PA&ED) services for a
total contract amount of $1,721,824.
2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the Amendment to the Design Professional
Services Agreement.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes a project to modify the I-
680/Sunol Boulevard Interchange (CIP No. 15551). This CIP is funded by Traffic Impact
Fees, and has sufficient funding to cover this additional scope of work. The cost of the
additional scope within this contract amendment is $1,232,566, increasing the total
contract amount to $1,721,824.
Staff consulted with Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC)
regarding AECOM's proposed cost for PA&ED services and the cost is in line with
similar-sized PA&ED work completed for Alameda CTC.
