Attachment 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2020 WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM AND <br /> AUTHORIZING THE ABATEMENT OF WEEDS, DIRT, RUBBISH OR REFUSE <br /> UPON OR IN FRONT OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTIES WITHIN THE <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 21, 2020, Council adopted Resolution No. 20- <br /> 1148 declaring as a public nuisance all weeds, dirt, rubbish or refuse upon or in front of <br /> certain described properties within the City of Pleasanton as more particularly set forth <br /> in Exhibit "A", attached hereto; and <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution No.20-1148 was adopted pursuant to the provisions of <br /> Government Code Sections 39560-39588; and <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution No.20-1148 designated June 2, 2020, at the hour of 7:00 <br /> p.m., as the time, date and place to hear and consider objections to the abatement and <br /> removal of weeds, rubbish or refuse upon or in front of certain described properties <br /> within the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department was charged with the responsibility to perform <br /> the duties imposed by Government Code Sections 39560-39588, and did prepare <br /> notices to destroy weeds and remove rubbish and refuse; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department, in accordance with Government Code Section <br /> 39567.1, did mail written notice of the proposed abatement and removal and the public <br /> hearing to all persons owning property described in Exhibit A; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council did hold a public hearing on June 2, 2020 and no <br /> protests were presented; and <br /> WHEREAS, abatement of the nuisance may be performed by the City or by a <br /> contractor; and <br /> WHEREAS, before the weeds are abated by the City or a contractor, any <br /> property owner may remove the weeds, rubbish or refuse at the property owner's own <br /> expense. <br />
