Regarding massing, she is amenable to staff's recommendations and she inquired if there were other concepts or examples of similar five-story buildings with this many units as a comparison. Commissioner Balch stated he was amenable to the general massing referenced in Discussion Point 3 and mentioned that the option selected is the slightly better choice. Commissioner Ritter discussed the layout and positioning and to Commissioner Allen's point, agreed with her comments around the importance of traffic circulation; he further stated the massing is all-encompassing of that and requested additional articulation on the building design. Commissioner Brown expressed concern with the wrap-around building and the view from Stoneridge Mall Road. He discussed the pedestrian and bicycle traffic and the future amenities, including the cycle track, which would help improve circulation.
