RESOLUTION NO. 20-1143 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> CONFIRMING THE ORDER OF THE DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES <br /> WAIVING FINES, PENALTIES AND INTEREST PAYMENTS FOR FAILURE TO PAY <br /> TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX, WATER SERVICE FEES, AND SEWER USER <br /> CHARGES AND SUSPENDING REQUIRED SECURITY DEPOSITS FOR WATER AND <br /> SEWER SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL <br /> EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, under the authority contained in California Government Code section 8634 <br /> and Chapter 2.44 of the PMC, the Director of Emergency Services is empowered upon the <br /> proclamation of a local emergency to make and issue orders and regulations on matters <br /> reasonably related to the protection of life and property as affected by such local emergency. <br /> These orders and regulations are to be confirmed by the City Council at the earliest practicable <br /> time; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on April 10, 2020, the City Manager, acting as the Director of Emergency <br /> Services, issued the attached order waiving certain fines, penalties and interest payments and <br /> suspending certain required security deposits because of the COVID-19 national, state, and local <br /> emergency ("Order"). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br /> CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. That the Order issued by the Directory of Emergency Services on April 10, <br /> 2020, is hereby ratified and confirmed. <br /> SECTION 2. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage <br /> and adoption. <br /> SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter <br /> it into the book of original resolutions. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a special meeting held on April 15, 2020. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a special meeting held on the 15th day of April, <br /> 2020, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Testa, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Kam-, Diaz, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
