BACKGROUND <br /> On March 17, 2020, the City Manager, as the Director of Emergency Services, <br /> proclaimed the existence of a local emergency. <br /> On March 23, 2020, the City Council will consider a resolution confirming the City <br /> Manager's proclamation of the existence of a local emergency. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> In order to allow for the streamlined issuance of contracts needed for the on-going <br /> operation of the City during the existence of a local emergency, staff is recommending <br /> that the City Council authorize the City Manager or his designee to consider, approve, <br /> and execute contracts and other administrative matters. <br /> The City Manager will be required to report to the City Council all actions taken pursuant <br /> to this Resolution at the next meeting of the City Council and at each meeting of the City <br /> Council that is held until the local emergency has been terminated by the City Council. <br /> This authority will remain in place until the termination of the local emergency is <br /> proclaimed by the City Council. <br /> Jointly Submitted by: <br /> /0('A•th' <br /> Nelson Fialho Daniel Sodergren <br /> City Manager City Attorney <br /> Attachments: Proposed Resolution <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br />
