ATTACHMENT 2 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER / DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, §2.44.060 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code empowers the Director of Emergency Services / City Manager to proclaim a local emergency if the City Council is not in session and requires that the City Council shall take action to ratify the proclamation within seven (7) days thereafter; and WHEREAS, on March 17, 2020, the City Manager, acting as the Director of Emergency Services, did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the City; and WHEREAS,the conditions of extreme peril to the health and safety of persons are ongoing within the City of Pleasanton due to the COVID-19 virus. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. That the "Proclamation of the Existence of a Local Emergency", as issued by the Directory of Emergency Services/ City Manager, on March 17, 2020, is hereby ratified and confirmed. SECTION 2. That the local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. SECTION 4. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a special meeting held on March 23, 2020.
