THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTONc <br /> March 3, 2020 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY MIRACLE <br /> PLAYSYSTEMS FOR THE MISSION HILLS SLIDE RENOVATION, <br /> CIP NO. 20745 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Mission Hills Slide Renovation Project, CIP No. 20745, consisted of the demolition <br /> of the existing metal slide and associated stairs, and construction of a dual slide with <br /> synthetic turf surfacing and rock handholds to replace the slide and stairs. The City <br /> conducted significant outreach to obtain and incorporate public input regarding the <br /> renovation of the iconic slide prior to construction. Construction of all work is complete <br /> and ready for acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the project and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice <br /> of Completion. <br /> 2. Retain the remaining balance of $237,440 in CIP No. 20745 to use for future <br /> playground renovations. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $624,524 including $600,000 from the Annual <br /> Playground Renovations Project, CIP No. 20745, and $24,524 from Playground <br /> Replacement Project, CIP No. 18745. Expenditures totaled $387,084 leaving a balance <br /> of $237,440 as outlined in Attachment 1. Staff recommends retaining the remaining <br /> balance to use for future playground renovations. <br />
