THE CITY OF <br /> 17 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONo <br /> January 21, 2020 <br /> Library and Recreation <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT THE PUBLIC ARTWORK, EVENTIDE AND APPROVE THE <br /> LOCATION FOR EVENTIDE AT THE ALVISO ADOBE COMMUNITY PARK <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Eventide is a 6-foot long cold-welded steel replica of a mountain lion selected by the <br /> Harrington Art Partnership (Attachment 1). The proposed location for the art piece is <br /> the Alviso Adobe Community Park. The Public Art Selection Sub-Committee (PASS), <br /> the Civic Arts Commission, and the Parks and Recreation Commission have reviewed <br /> the art piece and recommend the piece be placed at Alviso Adobe Community Park <br /> (Attachment 2). <br /> CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> Recommend the location of the public artwork, Eventide, at the Alviso Adobe <br /> Community Park, northwest of the orchard. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> Recommend the location of the public artwork, Eventide, at the Alviso Adobe <br /> Community Park, northwest of the orchard. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Accept the public artwork, Eventide, and approve the location for Eventide at the Alviso <br /> Adobe Community Park, northwest of the orchard. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The artwork, Eventide, which is valued at $1,000, will be purchased through the Public <br /> Art Acquisition Fund #50550110-430107. Pursuant to the terms of the Harrington Art <br /> Partnership, it is the City's responsibility to coordinate and pay for the installation of the <br /> public artwork. The cost of installing the piece is estimated between $4,000- $6,000 <br /> and will also be funded through the Public Art Acquisition Fund #50550110-430107. <br />
