THE CITY OF 8 —• # "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT pLE ASANTON,, January 21, 2020 Engineering TITLE: APPROVE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH JEFF KATZ ARCHITECTURE FOR THE FIRE STATION NO. 3 REPLACEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 17423 IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,500 TO PREPARE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR A TEMPORARY FIRE STATION TO BE LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF STONERIDGE DRIVE AND RHEEM DRIVE SUMMARY On July 18, 2017, City Council approved a professional services agreement with Jeff Katz Architecture (JKA) in the amount of $468,000 to design and provide construction support services for the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, CIP No. 17423. There has been one amendment to date, which increased the agreement by $3,500 and extended the agreement term to December 31, 2020. The second amendment adds $33,500 in order to complete a topographic survey of the vacant Catholic Community of Pleasanton-owned property at the southeast corner of Stoneridge Drive and Rheem Drive, and to prepare biddable documents to grade and install the necessary improvements and utility connections for a temporary fire station. This temporary station would serve the area for approximately one year beginning in summer 2020, while Fire Station No. 3 is under construction. RECOMMENDATION Approve the second amendment to the professional services agreement with Jeff Katz Architecture for the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, CIP No. 17423 in the amount of $33,500. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Funding for this amendment is available in the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, CIP No. 17423. This $33,500 will increase the total agreement amount from the current $471 ,500 to $505,000.
