resulted from a "sticker" voting process where each participant was asked to place a <br />sticker next to their favorite playground components. These improvements included <br />maintaining the different color schemes of the tot lot and playground for 5- to 12 -year- <br />olds, incorporating a train into the tot lot design, keeping the existing sandbox, adding <br />new sand play components, and incorporating (non -battery operated) musical play <br />equipment. The public input received is summarized in Attachment 3. <br />City staff and the Park Planet designer incorporated as much of the public input into the <br />final proposed design as possible, while avoiding an expansion of the existing play area <br />footprint and respecting the established budget for the project. Some of the written <br />comments received, such as adding shade trees and adding regulatory signs, were <br />noted, but are outside of the scope of the playground renovation project and were <br />therefore not included in the project. The final proposed design is shown in Attachment <br />4. <br />The park renovation design was presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission on <br />December 12, 2019.
