THE CITY jOFl 5 <br /> not <br /> _,.r I CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON <br /> December 17, 2019 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> AGREEMENT WITH JEFF KATZ ARCHITECTURE IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $42,000 FOR ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES <br /> REQUIRED FOR THE PLEASANTON LIBRARY STAFF OFFICE AND <br /> STORAGE AREA REMODEL PROJECT, CIP NO. 17750 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On December 4, 2018, City Council approved a professional services agreement with <br /> Jeff Katz Architecture (JKA) in the amount of$120,500 to design and assist with <br /> construction administration of the Pleasanton Library Office and Storage Area Remodel <br /> Project. On November 5, 2019, City Council awarded a construction contract to CWS <br /> Construction Group, Inc. to construct the project as designed by JKA. Construction is <br /> scheduled to begin in early 2020. Due to the heavy workload, combined with current <br /> staff vacancies in the Engineering Department, assistance is necessary to successfully <br /> manage the construction of the remodel project. This amendment adds funding for the <br /> needed construction support services to the construction administration component of <br /> the existing agreement with JKA. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to the <br /> professional services agreement with Jeff Katz Architecture in the amount of <br /> $42,000 for construction support services required for the Pleasanton Library Office <br /> and Storage Space Remodel Project. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funds are available in the Pleasanton Library Office and Storage Space Remodel <br /> Project, CIP No. 17750. <br />
