Ms. Piekarski questioned why the improvements at Valley Avenue and Hansen Drive
were made a priority over other locations needing improvements that are closer to
schools. She commented on the buffered bike lanes on Stoneridge Drive and suggested
including it in a repaving project to alleviate cost.
Mr. Tassano responded that not all pedestrian needs were included in the BPMP and
this project received higher priority due to the number of Walnut Grove students
crossing at this location.
Mr. Tassano acknowledged the concerns with loose gravel on the Arroyo Mocho Trail
and explained that in order to make these improvements it will have to go to council as
a CIP next fiscal year.
COMMUNICATIONS
None.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
5. Updates from the Parks and Recreation Commission
Chairperson Bowers noted that the Century House has continued to be topic of
discussion.
6. Updates from Project/Program/Agency Representatives
None.
7. Other brief reports on any meetings, conferences, and/or seminars
attended by the Committee members
None.
COMMITTEE COMMENTS
Todd Nelson asked for a status update on the Foothill Road Corridor Plan. He also
asked if the Railroad Corridor parking lot design has changed because he heard that it
the shared path was going to be made wider than originally proposed.
