The facility's start times for kindergarten through fifth grade are 15-20 minutes earlier than the
Pleasanton Unified School District's (PUSD) release schedule. Therefore, PUSD students who
attend the heritage school will be transported to the facility later than indicated in the
applicant's narrative.
Panache Academie Pleasanton is proposing to retain the same model as currently used at
their sister facility in San Ramon. The kindergarten readiness students will be dropped
off/picked up at the facility by their parents/legal guardians and there will be no more than 24
students and two teachers in this session. Kindergarten through fifth grade attendees, 50
students total, will be transported to the facility by parents/guardians or Panache Academie
Pleasanton staff in the facility's passenger vans. Staff, which includes a site administrator and
teachers, will work staggered shifts, meaning there would not be more than five staff at any
one time during operating hours. Staff will act in various capacities and will drive the facility's
vans when necessary to transport children to the facility.
The facility would include children from kindergarten readiness to 5th grade attending outside
of their regular public/private school hours. Given the facility's staff to student operational
ratios, the applicant will not have more than 24 kindergarten readiness students in the morning
session, which ends at 12:30 p.m. The mix of kindergarten through fifth grade students could
vary based on where the applicant sees a trend for enrollment in a particular year. The typical
enrollment and capacity registration by grade, based on the San Ramon location, is as follows:
Kindergarten: 15 students
First grade: 10 students
Second and third grades: 10 students
Fourth and Fifth grades: 15 students
The applicant would ensure the total number of students does not exceed 50 students on-site
at any given time by limiting the number of registered students.
The facility would provide a variety of programs for school-aged children, geared towards the
Indian culture. Children would be taught to read and write in addition to arts and crafts, dance,
and music instruction. Children would also participate in public speaking and computer lessons
as a part of the facility's curriculum. The details of the programs, as described by the applicant,
are included in Exhibit B.
During school breaks, the applicant would offer half-day and full-day weekly summer camp
sessions for up to 50 kindergarten through fifth grade students when children are not in school.
Parents/guardians would drop off/pick up their child/ren during this session. The program
would operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon (half day session) or 8:30 a.m.
to 6:30 p.m. (full-day session) and the children would participate in supervised heritage and
academic programs until their parents/guardians pick them up. The summer program also
provides three to four field trips over the course of the summer with staff transporting the
children in the passenger vans during these outings. Depending on staffing and demand,
similar sessions would be offered during the two-week winter break and during spring break.
The kindergarten readiness session would not operate during school breaks (winter, spring,
and summer).
P19-0283, 6700 Santa Rita Rd, Ste.
