—ted Way of Greater <br />New Voicemail Option for 211 <br />211 Leadership Group Meeting <br />In early November Eden I&R's Executive Director Alison <br />DeJung attended the latest meeting of the National 211 <br />Leadership Group which was informative and inspiring. <br />Thanks to the United Way of Greater Houston for <br />hosting, and deep appreciation to the soon to be retiring <br />CEO Anna Babin for her many years of leadership and <br />advocacy on behalf of 211. <br />Callers to 211 Alameda County now have the option to leave a voicemail <br />Qr. <br />and receive a call-back if their wait time lasts more than a few minutes. <br />This is just one of several recent improvements to 211's service. Callers <br />Voicemail <br />also now have the option to text their zip code to 898-211 Monday- <br />Friday from 9 am — 4 pm for fast referral information. <br />PG&E Planned Safety Power Shuttoff <br />y In October our staff worked around-the-clock in 12 -hour shifts in <br />the county's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to ensure we <br />j were able to relay the most current, vetted information back to <br />the agency for 211 to disseminate to callers. The first activation <br />of the EOC lasted for three 12 -hour shifts which were covered by <br />our Disaster Preparedness Coordinator and Executive Director. <br />The second started the evening of Saturday, October 26 and <br />went continually until the evening of October 28 and was covered by our Disaster Preparedness <br />Coordinator and three different members of the management team who passed the baton every 12 <br />hours. Pictured here are the agency's Deputy Director and Development Manager during their shifts. <br />Thank You, Nhan Young <br />After more than 34 years at Eden I&R, Nhan Young is retiring <br />from her role as Operations Director this month. Eden I&R <br />extends its deepest gratitude to Nhan for her dedicated <br />service. She started with the organization as the 911 Asian <br />Languages Translation Supervisor, was promoted to 911 <br />Translation Manager, and eventually became the Operations <br />Director and After Hours Supervisor.
