5. Include PFOA and PFOS future regulations in regional water supply considerations
The City frequently coordinates with Zone 7 and other Tri-Valley Water Retailers on
water supply planning. Upcoming planning items include the 2020 Regional
Demand-Conservation Study (to be performed by Zone 7 and supported by the Tri-
Valley Water Liaison Committee regarding water supply and potable reuse) and the
2020 Urban Water Management Plan (state-required long-term planning document
to ensure that adequate water supplies are available to meet existing and future
water needs). Historically, when the City has participated in regional water supply
planning activities, the assumption has been the City will make full use of their
groundwater pumping allotment of 1,140 MG per year. It is recommended for future
planning that a more conservative approach be taken, estimating a range of
pumping allotment from 0 to 1,140 MG.
Staff will continue to inform the community on its actions related to PFAS through the
City's website and other communication methods that meet AB 756 requirements.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approve by:
i fr•
( ,
Kathleen Yurchak Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Operations and Director of Finance City Manager
Water Utilities
Attachments:
1 .
