<br /> PROPOSED PROJECT
<br /> The applicant requests Design Review approval to construct an approximately
<br /> 5,761-square-foot single-story residence with an approximately 1,137-square-foot attached
<br /> garage (see the Site Plan in Figure 3). Table 1 summarizes the development standards for
<br /> new construction as prescribed in the Estates on Oak Ridge Architectural Design Guidelines
<br /> and provides a comparison of the subject proposal to those standards.
<br /> Proposed Architecture
<br /> The proposed residence is designed in a Mediterranean architectural style. The design
<br /> guidelines indicate this architectural style typically features U- or L-shaped structures with
<br /> balanced proportions and restrained detailing, barrel tile roofs, smooth stucco in warm-toned
<br /> earth colors, doors and windows recessed into thickened walls, typically wood-framed windows
<br /> with three light casements, arched doorways and columns. In this case, the residence exhibits
<br /> an L-shape design, clay barrel tile roof, smooth light-colored stucco, recessed doors and
<br /> aluminum clad wood windows encased by cast stucco trim, arched entry ways and pre-cast
<br /> columns. The main body color is a light yellow or light tan (French Vanilla) and the trim is an
<br /> off-white (Swiss Coffee) color.
