Detailed information on this meeting is provided in the attached
excerpts of the Planning Commission minutes (Attachment 2). Several representatives
of the Church in Pleasanton raised concerns regarding the proposed project, particularly
with respect to existing issues of unauthorized parking, littering, and loitering associated
with the 7-11, that they felt could continue or worsen with the proposed project. Two
residents expressed support via an email comment and at the meeting.
After receiving public testimony, the Commission recommended approval of the
applications with a 5-0 vote (Commissioner Ritter absent), with the following
modifications to staff's recommended conditions:
• Allow the southern driveway on Hopyard Road to be 40 feet wide;
• Construct a 5-foot-tall wrought iron fence on top of the retaining wall near the
southern property line;
• Require more aggressive/defensive landscape plantings in the landscaped area
along the southern property line of a species that would deter crossing between
the two properties; and
• Utilize a high-quality concrete tile roof material.
Page 5 of 8
