For 2020, the PDA is proposing a total of 29 events and special promotions, with three street closure
days. The scheduled events include: 13 Concerts in the Park in Lions Wayside Park (June through
August); two Antique Fairs (May and October); two children's scavenger hunts(March and October); one
Wine Stroll (May); one Installation Mixer (January/February); one Board Retreat (mid-year); one joint
membership mixer (July), one Bubbles and Bacon food event (February), two Brew Crawls(March and
October), one Forkful (September), one Small Business Saturday (November); one Holiday Open House
(November); one Spirit and Stroll (December). And we are excited to announce plans to hold a one-day
Festival-style event to bring the entire community together and celebrate our incredible downtown.
With the hope that this becomes a traditional PDA event each year growing into a full weekend
celebration. These planned events will require street closures to occur in the Downtown area on three
(3) days, only for the two Antique Fairs and for the one-day Festival Event.
The Board of Directors and staff of the PDA are excited about our plans for 2020. We are embracing
2020 as a year to expand our marketing outreach, engage with the community and create a positive
downtown experience, continue to focus on storytelling as our brand so that we can highlight the
uniqueness of our businesses. We look forward to partnering with the City of Pleasanton to keep our
Downtown the vibrant heart of our wonderful city.
4
