Arnie Olson expressed support of the recommended the salary adjustments. <br /> Mayor Thorne closed public comment. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Pentin/Brown to approve the amendments to employment contracts with City <br /> Attorney Daniel G. Sodergren and City Manager Nelson Fialho. Motion passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Testa, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Councilmember Testa said when giving an unexpected salary increase it's important that it not be on <br /> consent calendar in order to provide an explanation for the public. She also recommended that reviews <br /> are completed annually. In response to Councilmember Testa's inquiry, Director of Human Resources <br /> Gill clarified that Transparent California collects any information paid in a tax year and lumps it together <br /> in the annual salary and is not an accurate description of the actual annual salary. <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL — None <br /> COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Brown noted her participation as volunteer server for fundraiser at Sidetrack Bar & Grill <br /> benefiting Hively, a social service program for children and families throughout Alameda County. <br /> Councilmember Narum noted her election to the PPIE Board. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:03 p.m. The Council extended a <br /> tribute to our nation's men and women serving in the military.
