❖ Construction of the basketball court resurfacing project began on September 20, <br />2019. <br />BOCCE BALL COURT RENOVATION <br />The two bocce ball courts at Centennial Park are being renovated. <br />Project status: Design is underway. <br />■ On October 25, 2018 the City authorized Callander Associates Landscape <br />Architecture to provide design services for the renovation of the two bocce ball <br />courts at Centennial Park to improve the drainage, lighting, shade, surfacing, and <br />facilities and provide ADA access improvements. <br />■ City staff met with the Bocce Committee on November 15, 2018 to discuss the <br />proposed bocce ball court renovation project. <br />■ On January 2, 2019 the City posted a survey regarding bocce court surfacing <br />preferences. The survey closed on January 22, 2019 with 24 completed surveys. <br />■ The City presented the conceptual design and survey results to the Bocce <br />Committee on January 23, 2019 and received feedback regarding the design. <br />■ In February and March the City met with or spoke with various bocce ball court <br />managers to determine maintenance requirements for various types of courts. <br />■ City Council prioritized the bocce ball courts on March 19, 2019 when Council <br />adopted their two year work plan. <br />■ The City compiled information received from the survey -of bocce facility <br />managers into a memorandum and presented the results to the Bocce <br />Committee on April 30. <br />■ On May 9, 2019 the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the proposed <br />bocce ball court plans and recommended that the surfacing material preferred by <br />the bocce league members, Boccemon, be used for the courts. <br />■ In June the City directed the consultant to start working on the construction <br />documents for the bocce ball court renovation based on the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission recommendation. <br />❖ The design consultant submitted the 35% design development plans to the City on <br />July 17, 2019. <br />❖ The consultant submitted the 90% construction documents to the City on September <br />12, 2019. <br />Page 5of9 <br />
