Instructor not available — Because planning for classes occurs months in <br />advance, an instructor may not always be able to predict their future schedule. <br />Classes may get cancelled if an instructor has a conflict. <br />Facility not available — While staff do the best they can to coordinate school <br />district facility use, at times predicting the number of classrooms needed can be <br />difficult. Classes may get cancelled if facility availability fluctuates. <br />FaliMinter and Spring Sessions <br />Summer has the highest enrollment; however, programs offered during other times of <br />the year are equally successful. Below is a small sampling of the <br />accomplishments and new programs: <br />• Friends of Gingerbread donated $31,000 for a new play structure. The <br />structure was installed on August 21. <br />• The Alviso Adobe trained volunteers to offer docent led weekend tours. <br />• 34 participants enjoyed a family campout, which included an evening hike, <br />campfire and overnight camping at the Alviso Adobe. <br />• STQRY app was launched at the Alviso Adobe to aid the community in self - <br />guided tours of the property. <br />• A new 3v3 basketball one -day youth tournament saw great enrollment <br />success. <br />• Coffee with the Curator at the Harrington Gallery has been very successful <br />with an average of 30 attendees per session. <br />• Several new contract classes were offered this year and saw great success <br />including: Code for Fun, Fun with Fractions, Project Based Learning <br />Workshops, Vaganova method of classical ballet, and Doonya Bollywood <br />Fitness Dance Class <br />To provide additional information to the commission, staff were recently asked the <br />following questions regarding programming.
