was $387,000 with the funding from Pleasanton being approximately 3% and over 30% of <br />requests for assistance coming from Pleasanton. Commissioners were provided information <br />about some of the services CityServe provides to families and seniors, their partnership with <br />other services, attempts made to help with intervention and prevention, and the need to stop <br />the flow of people moving into homelessness. <br />Sunflower Hill — Special Needs Horticulture Teaching Support — thanked the commission for <br />their support of the horticulture teaching program and advised that funds were used'to provide <br />for four part-time staff members. The program served 141-156 individuals with a staffing ratio <br />of 1-1 or 1=3 and with the grant received they were able to stabilize staffing. Information about <br />the program was provided with a notation that over 80% of the produce grown was. donated to- <br />organizations <br />oorganizations such as Open Heart. Kitchen. <br />Commissioner Powers. was provided details about the number of students in the programs and <br />how the program focuses on the individual capabilities of each participant. <br />— Early Literacv. Diaoer Pantry / Earlv Childhood Education Trainina — <br />details about the Diaper Pantry and Early Childhood Education Training programs and it was <br />noted that 133 Pleasanton babies benefitted from the diaper program and eight free <br />workshops were provided. <br />Commissioner Sedlak commented on the need for free diapers in Pleasanton and <br />Commissioner Powers questioned how information about the programs was promoted. <br />Commissioners were advised that Child Care Links relies heavily on volunteers and <br />information about the programs is relayed mainly by word-of-mouth. <br />Commissioner Gohil discussed the possibility of Child Care Links receiving subsidized diapers <br />from companies that make them. <br />Chairperson Parikh closed the meeting for agency presentations at 8:30 p.m. <br />Commissioner Clare asked about the number of people served in a program and whether they <br />were duplications. Mr. Hernandez advised there was no way to know and track that <br />information. <br />Commissioner Carlucci was provided information about Area Median Income (AMI) and how it <br />was calculated. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carlucci, seconded by Commissioner Gohil, to accept <br />the agency reports for fiscal year 2018-2019 CDBG funded programs and have staff prepare <br />and submit a final Consolidated Annual..
