CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Ordinance No. 617 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 1968 AND THE MODEL ELECTRICAL CODE 1969 EDITION AND AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE II OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RELATING TO THE~ ADOPTION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND MODEL ELECTRICAL CODEl AND REPEALING ANY ORDINANCE OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. WHEREAS, notice has been duly given and published, and hearings held pursuant to the provisions of Article 2, Chapter 1, Division Title 5 of the Government Code relating to the adoption by refer- ence of Uniform Codes and no sufficient protest having been made, and the best interests of the City of Pleasanton appearing to be served by the adoption of this National Electrical Code and Model Electrical Code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 62-14.03 of Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title II of the Ordinance Code relating to the adoption of Electrical Codes is hereby amendec to provide as follows: "§2-14.03 Adoption of Electrical Codes. There are hereby adopted by the City of Pleasanton those certain codes known as the National Electrical Code and Model Electrical Code, more particularly described below, except such portions as are hereinafter amended, modified or deleted, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and the same shall become in full force and effect at the time this Ordinance becomes effective. Said Electrical Codes are the National Electrical Code (1968)! published by the National Fire Protection Association, and the Model Electrical Code 1969 Edition, as recommended by the East Bay Electrical Code Committee, three certified copies of which are on file with the City Clerk o~ the City of Pleasanton." II. Subsection (b) of §2-14.04, Article 1, Chapter 6, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton, dealing with amendments, modifications to and deletions from the adopted Electrical Code, is hereby amended so as to provide as follows: "~2-14 04 Amendments~ Modifications, Additions to and Deletiors~ from the Adopted Codes. The Adopted Codes are hereby changed in the following respects: a. Amendments or Modifications. Where any conflict occurs between the National Electrical Code, the Model Elec- trical Code and this chapter, this chapter shall take precedence over both adopted codes, and the Model Elec- trical Code shall take precedence over the National Electrical Code.
