THE CITY OFI 0 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONL <br /> August 20, 2019 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY GSE <br /> CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE <br /> RECYCLED WATER PRESSURE BOOSTER STATION AND DEBRIS <br /> STRAINERS AT KEN MERCER SPORTS PARK PROJECT, CIP NO. 14126 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Construction performed by GSE Construction Company, Inc. (GSE) for Phase II of the <br /> recycled water infrastructure expansion project is complete and ready for City Council <br /> acceptance. The project consisted of installing a pre-packaged pressure booster station <br /> and associated piping and electric facilities at the Ken Mercer Sports Park. The project <br /> also included installation of seven debris strainers at the recycled water main <br /> connections to the seven independent irrigation systems that serve Ken Mercer Sports <br /> Park and Tennis and Community Park. Funding for the project was through the <br /> California Clean Water State Revolving Funds (CWSRF) and Proposition 1B Grants <br /> Funds (loan and grant). While the pressure booster station is complete, PG&E is <br /> scheduled to set a transformer and supply permanent power to the station on <br /> September 4, 2019. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the work by GSE Construction Company, Inc. as complete. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the work completed by <br /> GSE. <br /> 3. Authorize the payment of the retention in the amount of$28,980.90 to GSE 30 days <br /> after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the return of the remaining $13,689 of parks funding to the Parks CIP <br /> Reserve Fund 518. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> A total of$579,618 of work was completed by GSE, including $206,311 of non-eligible <br /> loan and grant work, leaving $373,307 of the total project expenditures that can be <br /> billed to the loan and grant. The funding source for the Phase I and Phase II of the <br /> project is from a one percent interest loan from the CWSRF and Proposition 1B Grant <br /> Funds for a total of $17,359,925.
