West Las PositasI Transportation/Traffe Project <br />West Las Positas Traffic Calming <br />Residents along West Las Positas (between Fairlands Elementary School and Staples <br />Ranch) have called for concerns about speeding. This section of West Las Positas was <br />evaluated as part of the Traffic Calming program and was the top ranked street eligible <br />for traffic calming. An inital public meeting was held on December 5, 2018 to describe <br />the program, the data collected and next steps should the neighborhood wishes to <br />continue forward with the program. <br />• Status Under Review <br />• Next Steps/Details: A second neighorhood steering committee was held in <br />March 2019 with the focus of focusing the scope of the <br />project area. The steering committee is finalizing design <br />and will begin the petition process in the summer of 2019. <br />• Applicant: City of Pleasanton <br />• Staff Contact(s): Cedric Novenario <br />52. The Preserve I Transportation/Traffic Project <br />Staff received calls from concerned residents regarding speeding along Laurel Creek <br />Drive between Stoneridge Drive and Dublin Canyon Road. As a result, Laurel Creek <br />Drive was added to the list of streets to be evaluated for the City's Traffic Calming <br />Program. In 2015, Laurel Creek Drive was identified as the street with the greatest need <br />for traffic calming. A steering committee was created to develop a plan for the <br />neighborhood. <br />The Plan was presented to and approved by City Council on Nov. 15, 2016. The plan <br />includes a right turn restriction (installed Nov. 23, 2016) from Dublin Canyon on to <br />Laurel Creek and two radar speed signs to provide a reminder to those using the roadway <br />that the posted limit is 25 miles per hour. <br />Page 17 of 20 <br />
