The project as bid includes a conservative $50,000 allowance for furnishings, window coverings and furniture for staff workspaces. Payments to the contractor will be made based upon actual costs for these items. Finally, $20,000 is budgeted to cover the cost for the temporary relocation of staff out of building to allow construction, and back into the building following construction. The funding and anticipated project expenditures are detailed in Attachment 1. Schedule Fieldhouse renovation work is anticipated to start in August 2019. This work will require Library and Recreation staff to move out of the building. However, the softball fields, restrooms, scorekeeper's booths, and the concession stand will remain in service until league play wraps up at the end of October. This is possible as the fields and facilities are typically utilized by the leagues after 4:30 p.m. when the contractor will be finished for the day. Temporary fencing will be installed, isolating the closed components of the building from the public. Starting November 1, 2019, the entire facility will close allowing the improvements to the restrooms and all other remaining work to proceed. As planned, the work will be completed by the start of the 2020 sport seasons in early spring.
