Changes to the boundaries of the Specific Plan area would also be reflected in various maps and diagrams throughout the General Plan.2 Otherwise, staff found that only minor text changes were needed, to update references to the 2002 Downtown Specific Plan, to instead note the 2019 Downtown Specific Plan. Other policies and programs of the General Plan were found to remain consistent with the Specific Plan as amended. Please see Attachment 7 for the draft General Plan amendments. Task Force Input The Task Force is requested to consider and provide a recommendation to the Planning Commission and City Council for adoption of the Draft General Plan Amendments. Recommendation on Adoption of Draft Downtown Design Guidelines Amendments Staff reviewed and determined a few places in which amendments to the Downtown Design Guidelines would be needed to maintain consistency with the updated Downtown Specific Plan. These include updating the map of downtown to be consistent with the proposed specific plan boundary, and updates to the text to defer to the specific plan regarding height and building stories. Please see Attachment 8 for the draft amendments to the Downtown Design Guidelines. Task Force Input The Task Force is requested to consider and provide a recommendation to the Planning Commission and City Council for adoption of the Draft Downtown Design Guidelines Amendments. 2 Note: There are a large number of such figures, and they have not been updated for this Task Force meeting, but will be provided in advance of the Planning Commission and City Council's action to adopt the amendments.
