Item 3—Recommendation on Adoption of Downtown Specific Plan and Related Amendments exact details of any potential Municipal Code revisions, staff has recommended that these other amendments be deferred to a separate, focused process following the adoption of the Downtown Specific Plan, to allow for an appropriate level of engagement and outreach to interested stakeholders. Task Force Input The Task Force is requested to consider and provide a recommendation to the Planning Commission and City Council for adoption of the Draft Municipal Code Zoning Map and text amendments. Recommendation on Adoption of Draft General Plan Amendments Staff has carefully reviewed the Pleasanton General Plan, to determine any necessary revisions to ensure consistency between the General Plan and Specific Plan as updated. The principal amendment needed is to the General Plan Land Use Diagram (Figure 2-1), to reflect the recommended General Plan map amendments for properties shown on DSP "Map A." Staff has prepared a map, based on DSP "Map A" properties, to indicate these proposed changes within the downtown area. Changes to the boundaries of the Specific Plan area would also be reflected in various maps and diagrams throughout the General Plan.2 Otherwise, staff found that only minor text changes were needed, to update references to the 2002 Downtown Specific Plan, to instead note the 2019 Downtown Specific Plan. Other policies and programs of the General Plan were found to remain consistent with the Specific Plan as amended. Please see Attachment 7 for the draft General Plan amendments. Recommendation on Adoption of Draft Downtown Design Guidelines Amendments Staff reviewed and determined a few places in which amendments to the Downtown Design Guidelines would be needed to maintain consistency with the updated Downtown Specific Plan. These include updating the map of downtown to be consistent with the proposed specific plan boundary, and updates to the text to defer to the specific plan regarding height and building stories. Please see Attachment 8 for the draft amendments to the Downtown Design Guidelines.
