introduced during her term and how she had tried to bridge the gap between art and words by <br />highlighting things takingplace at the library. <br />Commissioners were provided details by Ms. Fleming on the Little Free Libraries project, <br />Writers Workshops taking place at the library for adults and. children, and the Art of Publishing <br />program. She commented on Little Free Libraries that people have installed in the city and <br />how a map is being put together to show their locations. Additionally, Commissioners were <br />advised that a launching of -these libraries will take place together with a planned StoryWalk <br />event scheduled for June 1 through August which will entail deconstructing a StoryWalk© and <br />placing pages in store/business windows so people will be able to read as they walk. Ms. <br />Fleming also noted a Little Free Library had been installed at the Firehouse Arts Center. <br />Commissioner Nene thanked Ms. Fleming for doing such a good job in bringing a focus to <br />literary arts and indicated that she liked the idea of the free libraries. <br />Commissioner Song suggested consideration be given to providing a list of audio books that <br />are available at the. library. <br />Ms. Whitney stated. she has enjoyed getting to know and work. with Ms. Fleming and <br />encouraged her to attend the August commission meeting to receive her commendation. <br />Vice Chairperson Casey thanked Ms. Fleming for all of her work as the city's Literary Arts <br />Ambassador. <br />b. Mark Duncanson, Recreation Coordinator, Presentation on Firehouse Arts Center <br />Children's Program <br />Mr. Duncanson provided an update on Children's Theater Program including: 1.) information <br />about the fall program for the Pleasanton Youth Theater Company (formally Civic Arts Stage <br />Company), 2) Master Class for high school and college students, 3) Main Stage Productions — <br />Frozen Jr. (winter) and Honk Jr. (spring), 4) Sparks Program — 101 Dalmatians and Willy <br />Wonka Kids, and 5) Summer Drama Camp. <br />Commissioner Nene stated she was impressed with all that Mr. Duncanson has been doing <br />and the great changes he has made. <br />Commissioner Wedge-Bonde also thanked Mr. Duncanson for all he has been doing and felt <br />the changes have been very beneficial. <br />3.
