ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 19- <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> APPROVING THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF <br /> UNDERTSTANDING FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE EAST <br /> COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER <br /> WHEREAS, The East County Animal Shelter is jointly owned by the cities of Livermore, <br /> Pleasanton, Dublin and Alameda County and provides a range of animal services including <br /> boarding, licensing, medical services, adoption and euthanasia; and <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Pleasanton, with our partners the City of Dublin and the City of <br /> Livermore, currently contracts with the Alameda County Sherriff's Office for the maintenance and <br /> operation of the East County Animal Shelter; and <br /> WHEREAS; the current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will expire on June 30th, <br /> 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS; The Amendment will extend the current MOU with the Alameda County <br /> Sheriff's Office for two years from July 1, 2019 ending June 30, 2021. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council approves the First Amendment to the MOU as described <br /> in Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract <br /> implementing the terms of the MOU. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on June 4th, 2019. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of June, 2019, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: <br /> Noes: <br /> Absent: <br /> Abstain: <br /> Karen Diaz, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Daniel Sodergren, City Attorney <br />
