BACKGROUND
The subject project consists of applying a thin layer of pavement coating to
approximately 1.7 million square feet of pavement to the following 25 city streets with
either slurry seal or micro-surfacing, utilizing Type II black volcanic aggregate, to
prolong the service life of the existing pavement.
STREET NAME BEGIN END LOCATION LENGTH WIDTH AREA TREATMENT
LOCATION
DENKER DR STONERIDGE DR DORMAN RD 1550 38 57,882 SS
DENKER DR PAYNE RD DORMAN RD 1587 38 59,752 SS
PAYNE RD DENKER DR PAYNE CT 696 38 28,026 SS
HOLLAND DR PAYNE RD SINGLETREE WAY 1067 38 40,363 SS
FARGO CT HOLLAND DR END 117 30 6,116 SS
ALTA CT HOLLAND DR END 134 30 6,855 SS
NOVA CT SINGLETREE WAY END 222 30 8,930 SS
RANCHO CT HOLLAND DR END 496 34 18,628 SS
VALE CT HOLLAND DR END 280 30 10,691 SS
INGLEWOOD DR HOPYARD RD DENKER DR 988 38 42,982 SS
BEECH CT DENKER DR END 340 33 13,215 SS
BENNER CT DENKER DR END 407 33 15,072 SS
EVELYN CT DENKER DR END 210 29 8,507 SS
FISHER CT DENKER DR END 428 33 15,863 SS
HERRIN WAY ALVORD WAY MASON STREET 472 37 17,927 SS
MISSION DR SONOMA DR JUNIPERO DR 1413 33 102,000 SS
SAN ANTONIO ST JUNIPERO DR END 1568 37 59,454 SS
SAN JUAN WAY SAN CARLOS WAY SONOMA DR 2086 33 71,381 SS
SAN JOSE DR SAN ANTONIO ST HOPKINS WAY 1384 33 46,168 SS
SAN MIGUEL CT SAN JOSE DR END 306 29 11,721 SS
JUNIPERO ST DDEPENDENCE SONOMA DR 2280 37 83,315 SS
SAN CARLOS WAY SONOMA DR END 830 37 32,683 SS
SAN LUIS CT SONOMA DR END 529 33 20,105 SS
FOOTHILL RD MUIRWOOD DR HIGHLAND OAKS DR 2688 44 80,728 Micro-surfacing
(NORTH)
FOOTHILL RD HIGHLAND OAKS WEST LAS POSITAS 1666 46 77,185 Micro-surfacing
DR BLVD
WEST LAS 320 FEET SOUTH OF
FOOTHILL RD POSITAS BLVD MUIRWOOD DR 2708 50 152,040 Micro-surfacing
(SOUTH)
SUNOL BLVD 1-680 VALLEY AVE/ 3450 62 357,838 Micro-surfacing
JUNIPERO ST
VINEYARD AVE BERNAL AVE 130 FEET EAST OF 3010 72 262,486 Micro-surfacing
LEONA PLACE
Micro-surfacing and slurry seal are similar materials that consist of a mixture of water,
asphalt emulsion, aggregate, polymer, and chemical additives. The major difference
between slurry seal and micro-surfacing is how the material "cures" or hardens. While
slurry seal relies on evaporation of the water in the asphalt emulsion, the micro-
surfacing utilizes chemical additives to harden, shortening the time it takes to cure.
