THE CITY OF 5 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT pLEASANTOK May 7, 2019 Engineering TITLE: APPROVE A CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL $3,500 AND EXTEND THE CONTRACT TERM TO DECEMBER 31, 2020, FOR THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH JEFF KATZ ARCHITECTURE FOR THE FIRE STATION NO. 3 REPLACEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 17423 SUMMARY On July 18, 2017, City Council approved a professional services agreement with Jeff Katz Architecture (JKA) in the amount of $468,000 to design and provide construction support services for the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, CIP No. 17423. The original design agreement did not include design of the temporary facility. This contract amendment increases the compensation amount by $3,500, specifically for the survey and utility research at the temporary facility site that was performed by a subconsultant to JKA. This amendment increases the total compensation to $471,500. The amendment also extends the contract period to December 31, 2020. The time extension will keep the JKA contract active through construction of Fire Station No. 3. RECOMMENDATION Approve the contract amendment with Jeff Katz Architecture for an additional $3,500 and extension of the contract term date to December 31, 2020. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Staff recommends $3,500 be allocated from the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, CIP No. 17423, increasing the total contract amount from $468,000 to $471,500. Funds are available within CIP No. 17423 for the amendment.
