THE CITY OF <br /> 5 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTOK <br /> May 7, 2019 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL $3,500 <br /> AND EXTEND THE CONTRACT TERM TO DECEMBER 31, 2020, FOR <br /> THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH JEFF KATZ <br /> ARCHITECTURE FOR THE FIRE STATION NO. 3 REPLACEMENT <br /> PROJECT, CIP NO. 17423 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On July 18, 2017, City Council approved a professional services agreement with Jeff <br /> Katz Architecture (JKA) in the amount of $468,000 to design and provide construction <br /> support services for the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, CIP No. 17423. The <br /> original design agreement did not include design of the temporary facility. This contract <br /> amendment increases the compensation amount by $3,500, specifically for the survey <br /> and utility research at the temporary facility site that was performed by a subconsultant <br /> to JKA. This amendment increases the total compensation to $471,500. The <br /> amendment also extends the contract period to December 31, 2020. The time extension <br /> will keep the JKA contract active through construction of Fire Station No. 3. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the contract amendment with Jeff Katz Architecture for an additional $3,500 <br /> and extension of the contract term date to December 31, 2020. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Staff recommends $3,500 be allocated from the Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project, <br /> CIP No. 17423, increasing the total contract amount from $468,000 to $471,500. Funds <br /> are available within CIP No. 17423 for the amendment. <br />
