■ The conceptual design of the entry and south hill improvements was completed on May <br />21, 2018 and City Council approved the entry and wayfinding improvements in the mid- <br />term budget as CIP 18750. <br />■ Construction of Phase 2, the storage and parking area, was substantially completed in <br />May and City Council accepted the project on August 21, 2018 after the completion of the <br />maintenance period. <br />❖ On February 22, 2019 the City authorized their on-call consultant, Callander Associates <br />Landscape Architecture, to provide construction documents for Phase 3 of the cemetery. <br />❖ City Council prioritized the Pioneer Cemetery Phase 3 improvements on March 19, 2019 <br />when Council adopted their two year work plan.. <br />VALLEY TRAILS PARK <br />Valley Trails Park will be impacted by the improvements proposed for the Sycamore at Valley <br />Trails housing project. The neighborhood has requested park improvements to be constructed <br />as part of the Conditions of Approval for the housing project. Improvements are proposed:to <br />include a new restroom, tot lot, and landscape improvements. <br />Project status: Project approved by City Council on May 2, 2017. <br />■ Development has been approved, pending review and building permit approval, to, <br />construct a public restroom in Valley Trails Park near Lot 11 of the development. . <br />■ The plans for the development, including the plans for the park improvements, were <br />approved in late June. <br />■ The City received the developer contribution of $177,800 on July 24, 2018 for the park <br />improvements. <br />■ The City requested a survey be completed of the tot lot area on September 18, 2018. <br />❖ A public outreach meeting for the Valley Trails neighborhood was held on Saturday March 2, <br />2019 to discuss the tot lot design. Approx. 15-20 residents attended the event. The main <br />request was to relocate the tot lot closer to the existing playground for 5-12 year olds and the <br />proposed restroom. Residents also requested more shade. <br />❖ The revised design in the new location is being presented to the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. <br />TRAILS MASTER PLAN <br />The need for a Trails Master Plan was identified as a priority and money was set aside in the <br />budget to create a Trails Master Plan that would replace the 1993 Community Trails Master <br />Plan. <br />Project status: The Trails Master Plan is projected to be complete April 2019. <br />■ The City submitted requests for qualifications for trail master plan design services on <br />April 9, 2017. <br />■ Staff received three proposals, all from specialized trail design firms, on May 9, 2017. <br />■ Interviews with the three firms were conducted on May 31. City Council approved the <br />contract with TrailPeople at the July 18, 2017, City Council meeting. <br />■ The project kick-off meeting occurred -on August 9, 2017. <br />Page 5 <br />
