BACKGROUND' <br />With inclusion as one of the Library and Recreation Department values, it is a high <br />priority to ensure that every member of our community has an opportunity to enjoy the <br />programs offered in Pleasanton. <br />To achieve this objective, in July 2016, the City of Pleasanton's Library and Recreation <br />Department contracted with W -T Group (formerly Recreation Accessibility Consultants) <br />with the following objectives: <br />• Review and analyze department policies, procedures and processes <br />related to inclusion services <br />• Contrast policies, procedures and processes against the Title II <br />regulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Title II regulations <br />prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability in all services, programs <br />and activities provided to the public. <br />The WT Group reviewed the Library and Recreation Department inclusion policies, <br />procedures, processes and documents and conducted in-person interviews with <br />department staff to determine compliance with Title II and offer suggestions for smart <br />practices for the City.
