Tree Removal
Three existing trees, two on the project site and one in the city right-of-way on West Las
Positas Boulevard, are proposed to be removed. Two of three trees that would be removed are
heritage-sized trees: a Chinese hackberry tree (street tree) and a pine tree near
Hopyard Road. A non-heritage-sized deciduous tree located near the existing convenience
store would also be removed. An arborist's report will be provided when the application returns
for its formal review and recommendation. In addition to the tree removal, the applicant
proposes to remove the existing shrubs located on the property line between the Shell station
parcel and the 7-Eleven parcel for the proposed development. New planting is proposed
throughout the project site. Figure 11 shows the preliminary landscape plan.
