Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive — Parents have indicated that <br />several children had never been to the Library due to concerns about noise levels and <br />appearing. disruptive in story time, and they were now able to have their first library visit. <br />The Library works closely throughout the week with several groups and individuals with <br />disabilities. <br />• E.L.M. (Enjoy Life More) is an adult day program that brings about 4-12 <br />participants to volunteer on Tuesdays. <br />• "Transitions" is a program through Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD) for <br />young adults that have finished high school and are beginning to work on job _ <br />skills. Their group is a rotation of about 10 participants that come about 2 to 3 at <br />a time, on.Wednesdays and Thursdays. <br />• The Library has recently hostedits first PUSD internship for an adult with a <br />disability, for 13 hours per week. <br />The Ad -Hoc Inclusion Committee will. continue to meet every other month to further, <br />discuss department -wide inclusion practices and continue to focus on program and <br />policy compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disability Act, as recommended. <br />ALTERNATIVE ACTION <br />Any action determined by the commission. <br />Submitted by: <br />Director of Library and Recreation <br />Attachment: <br />1.
