It contains multiple buildings <br /> and uses by several City departments and the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department.The <br /> Pleasanton Unified School District site is located at 4750 First Street and houses its district <br /> administration, maintenance, and other functions. Attachment A contains information about <br /> both sites, and Attachments B and C contain site maps for the sites. <br /> Highlights of Observations <br /> • The District has multiple operations on their current site that could potentially be <br /> relocated to the City's site.There are varying degrees of compatibility with existing uses <br /> at the City's maintenance facility. <br /> • Parking is in short supply at the Operations Services Center and if uses are added, it <br /> could become exacerbated. <br /> • Planning and managing a co-location project will require considerable resources from <br /> both City and District. <br /> • The impact on the adjacent residential neighborhood from expanding operations at the <br /> City Operations Services Center will require study and public vetting. <br /> • Co-location of compatible uses could offer opportunities for service sharing,joint <br /> purchasing or cost sharing of capital improvements. <br /> • The City's and District's future needs should be considered in any current decisions <br /> related to maintenance facilities. <br /> Highlights of Lessons Learned from Case Studies <br /> • A comprehensive, written agreement between parties will provide clarity and allow <br /> each agency to plan for operational and financial impacts, in the short and long term. <br /> • Successfully sharing facilities requires a certain amount of flexibility and willingness to <br /> accommodate each other's needs from time to time. <br /> • Reducing long-term capital costs is a likely benefit of sharing maintenance facilities. <br /> • Operating costs may be reduced if cooperative purchasing of supplies or joint use of on- <br /> site facilities(such as a fueling station) is implemented. <br /> See Attachment D for a summary of the four case studies. <br /> Organization of Report <br /> The remainder of this report is organized into the following sections: <br /> Part 1: Issues to Consider Regarding Co-Location <br /> Part 2: Future Comprehensive Feasibility Study <br /> Part 3: Recommended Next Steps <br /> Attachment A: Summary of Data Submitted by City and District <br /> Attachment B:Site Map of Operations Services Center <br /> Attachment C:Site Map of School District Property <br /> Attachment D: Case Study Summaries <br />
