THE CITY OF <br />11111 � 1 1 1 <br />PLEASANTON. <br />Economic Vitality <br />Committee <br />February 21, 2019 <br />7:30 a.m. <br />Remillard Conference Room <br />3333 Busch Road, Pleasanton <br />CALL TO ORDER/INTRODUCTIONS <br />Minutes <br />Meeting called to order at 7:32 a.m. by EVC Chair Christina Nystrom Mantha. Committee <br />members present were Christina Nystrom Mantha, Councilmember Julie Testa, Ellen Pensky <br />McGraw, Steve Van Dorn, Will Doerlich, Harsh Gohil, Shareef Mandavi, Olivia Sanwong, <br />Chiman Lee, Esther Yu, Kristen Hayes Kuse, Barbara Steinfield, Judy Wheeler, Steve Baker, <br />Sylvia Tian, Jeffrey Chen, and Jamie Hintzke/Glen Sparks. Committee member not in <br />attendance was Angel Moore. Guest in attendance was Angela Ramirez Holmes. City staff <br />present were City Manager Nelson Fialho, Assistant City Manager Brian Dolan, Management <br />Analyst Sean Welch, Economic Development Specialist Lisa Adamos and Director of <br />Economic Development Pamela Ott. <br />EVC members and City staff introduced themselves. <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />No agenda amendments were made. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Glen Sparks offered an update on the status of a Career Technical Education (CTE) he had <br />previously shared with EVC, noting that 2 of the 3 applications had been approved and were <br />waiting on final decision from the State. He thanked members for their letters of support. <br />Councilmember Testa noted that $8 million in CTE grants had been allocated in a prior cycle <br />but that the grants required matching funds, and asked if that was the same for this cycle. Glen <br />Sparks confirmed that matching grants were required and such funding would come from the <br />recent bond. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The January 17, 2019, meeting minutes were approved as presented on motion by Steve Van <br />Dorn and second by Shareef Mandavi by a vote of 15-0-2 with Councilmember Julie Testa and <br />Jeffrey Chen abstaining. <br />INFORMATION UPDATES <br />Pamela Ott reviewed the Upcoming Meetings and Events listing. <br />Harsh Gohil noted his recent appointment to serve on a regional committee for Kaiser <br />Permanente. <br />
