EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> A. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE <br /> In general,routine maintenance consists of replacing defective parts of street lights,park pathway <br /> lights,parking lot lights, safety lighting(where the safety lighting is on the same pole as the traffic <br /> signal) and other miscellaneous City owned lights, and/or otherwise maintaining the City's lights <br /> to keep them in full operation. Contractor shall repair,replace or otherwise render in good working <br /> order any and all defective parts of the street light, parking lot light and pathway light as part of <br /> the flat rate monthly cost. Contractor shall furnish all tools, equipment,apparatus, facilities, labor, <br /> services and materials, and perform all work necessary to maintain in good workmanlike manner <br /> all of the lights owned by the City. <br /> Routine maintenance repair of a street light, parking lot or pathway light consists of furnishing a <br /> qualified lighting maintenance repair person (or persons) and a service vehicle, removing and <br /> replacing any one or combination of lamp, lens, photocell, ballast, or igniter, etc. Removing and <br /> replacing damaged or missing pole numbers at a height of not less than 8 feet. Pole numbers to be <br /> mounted vertically on the street side of the pole (please refer to the City of Pleasanton Standard <br /> Specifications and Details for specific material and installation). <br /> The normal response time to repair a malfunctioning or otherwise non-operating street light, <br /> parking lot or pathway light shall be no less than five (5) working days. It is understood and <br /> agreed that failure on part of the contractor to respond within five (5) days, the contractor agrees <br /> to pay to the City, not as a penalty but as liquidated damages, in the amount of$100 per day <br /> late to arrive. This amount is to be deducted from any payment due or to become due to the <br /> contractor. <br /> B. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE <br /> Routine Preventative Maintenance shall be performed by the contractor responsible for <br /> preventative maintenance and the associated operation of streetlight, parking lot and pathway <br /> lights. Routine preventative maintenance shall include the service or replacement of internal <br /> components: lenses, gaskets, reflectors, ballasts, igniters, sockets and all integral parts of the light <br /> fixture that have failed through normal deterioration,with either a like item or selected upgrade to <br /> ensure the roadways and public facilities are properly illuminated. <br /> Contractor shall provide the following maintenance for streetlights,parking lot and pathway lights: <br /> a. Replace lamps that have become inoperative by virtue of burnout. Replacement lamps shall <br /> be substantially equivalent to those replaced. <br /> b. Replace photoelectric cells that have become inoperative from normal deterioration. <br /> c. Minor trimming of trees below the light fixture for the purpose of allowing a reasonable <br /> amount of light to be let through. Trimming is limited to within three(3)feet of the bottom <br /> of the fixture. <br /> 6 <br />
