Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)for traffic control. <br /> g. Work involving single-lane closures on major arterials, including Foothill Road, Hopyard <br /> Road, Santa Rita Road, Bernal Avenue, Sunol Boulevard, First Street, Stanley Boulevard, <br /> Vineyard Avenue, Stoneridge Drive, Stoneridge Mall Road, Hacienda Drive, Valley <br /> Avenue, and Owens Drive, will be restricted to 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Pedestrian and <br /> driveway access must be maintained at all times. <br /> E. EMERGENCY WORK <br /> Upon occasion, contractor will be called to respond to accident sites, disconnect power, secure <br /> the site for public safety, take down damaged poles or pick up a knock downed light pole. <br /> Contractor shall furnish a price for performing this emergency work both during normal working <br /> hours and during weekends, holidays, or other off-hours. The response time for emergency calls <br /> shall be no more than two (2)hours, as these often represent dangers to public safety. Contractor <br /> shall also furnish a price for reinstalling knockdowns with like materials. <br /> The Contractor shall cooperate with the Police Department and the Operations Services <br /> Superintendent in cases of emergency. <br /> F. NEW STREET LIGHT PARKING LOT LIGHT AND PATHWAY LIGHT <br /> INSTALLATIONS <br /> Contractor shall maintain any additional street light,parking lot and pathway lights as they are <br /> installed, or become a part of the maintenance requirements of the City. <br /> G. WARRANTY SERVICE <br /> During the period of warranty, contractor is expected to make all communications between <br /> manufacturer, installing contractor and the City's Operations Superintendent or designee <br /> regarding any warranty service. Contractor shall notify the City's Operations Superintendent of <br /> any undue delays in response by the manufacturer or installing contractor and details of each <br /> incident. <br /> H. UPGRADES AND INSTALLATIONS <br /> Contractor shall, if requested, install, modify and/or upgrade street light and pathway lights or <br /> traffic safety devices. All additional work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the City's <br /> Operations Superintendent. <br /> No additional work shall be commenced or undertaken by contractor unless and until the same is <br /> authorized in writing by the City's Operations Superintendent. Said written authorization is a <br /> condition precedent to the contractor's entitlement to reimbursement. This work shall be <br /> performed within a time limit established by the City's Operations Superintendent and for a <br /> mutually agreed upon price. City shall retain the right to perform any additional work by use of <br /> City forces or utilize other contractors. <br /> 8 <br />
