Work involving single-lane closures on major arterials, including Foothill Road, Hopyard Road, Santa Rita Road, Bernal Avenue, Sunol Boulevard, First Street, Stanley Boulevard, Vineyard Avenue, Stoneridge Drive, Stoneridge Mall Road, Hacienda Drive, Valley Avenue, and Owens Drive, will be restricted to 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Pedestrian and driveway access must be maintained at all times. E. EMERGENCY WORK Upon occasion, contractor will be called to respond to accident sites, disconnect power, secure the site for public safety, take down damaged poles or pick up a knock downed light pole. Contractor shall furnish a price for performing this emergency work both during normal working hours and during weekends, holidays, or other off-hours. The response time for emergency calls shall be no more than two (2)hours, as these often represent dangers to public safety. Contractor shall also furnish a price for reinstalling knockdowns with like materials. The Contractor shall cooperate with the Police Department and the Operations Services Superintendent in cases of emergency. F. NEW STREET LIGHT PARKING LOT LIGHT AND PATHWAY LIGHT INSTALLATIONS Contractor shall maintain any additional street light,parking lot and pathway lights as they are installed, or become a part of the maintenance requirements of the City. G. WARRANTY SERVICE During the period of warranty, contractor is expected to make all communications between manufacturer, installing contractor and the City's Operations Superintendent or designee regarding any warranty service. Contractor shall notify the City's Operations Superintendent of any undue delays in response by the manufacturer or installing contractor and details of each incident. H. UPGRADES AND INSTALLATIONS Contractor shall, if requested, install, modify and/or upgrade street light and pathway lights or traffic safety devices. All additional work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the City's Operations Superintendent. No additional work shall be commenced or undertaken by contractor unless and until the same is authorized in writing by the City's Operations Superintendent. Said written authorization is a condition precedent to the contractor's entitlement to reimbursement. This work shall be performed within a time limit established by the City's Operations Superintendent and for a mutually agreed upon price. City shall retain the right to perform any additional work by use of City forces or utilize other contractors. 8
