THE CITY OF I 3 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL ASANTON, <br /> March 19, 2019 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH VISTA UNIVERSAL FOR <br /> THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $440,000 FOR CITY-WIDE STREET, <br /> PATHWAY, AND PARKING LOT LIGHTS MAINTENANCE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Operations Services Department is responsible for the maintenance of over 7,000 <br /> street, pathway and parking lot lights. The new maintenance agreement for the City's <br /> street, pathway and parking lot lights includes night checks of arterial roadways, <br /> replacement of photo cells or fixtures, ultrasonic pole testing, pole painting and <br /> emergency response for damaged poles and knockdowns. Staff solicited bids for <br /> services of experienced, licensed contractors to maintain the City's street, pathway and <br /> parking lot lights with a total of five (5) bids submitted. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Vista Universal, Inc. for a <br /> not-to-exceed amount of $440,000 for the first year with each following year adjustable <br /> by Consumer Price Index (CPI). The agreement term would be for a three (3) year <br /> period, with an option to extend the agreement, by amendment, for an additional two <br /> (2), one-year terms. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for the maintenance of the City's street, pathway and parking lot lights is <br /> appropriated in Operations Services Department's FY 2018/2019 budget and will be <br /> requested as part of the FY 2019/20-2020/21 budget process. <br />
