Chairperson Soby reminded Commissioners that they should be asking Mr. Rocha about the <br />progress ECHO has made in the program with the funds they have received. <br />Ms. Rocha advised that detailed information about the work of ECHO, different cases they work <br />on, and the assistance they have been able to provide including lots of hand -holding has all <br />been provided to the Commission. <br />CRIL Housing and Independent Living Services — Mr. Galvan provided information about the <br />services CRIL provides to Pleasanton residents with disabilities and/or seniors with limitations to <br />help them improve their level of independence. Services provided includes independent living <br />skills training, counseling services, independent travel training, use of Pleasanton Paratransit <br />program, etc. The goal of CRIL is to teach their clients to be able to do things for themselves. <br />He discussed collaboration with other organizations and 2-1-1 referrals. <br />Commissioner Kiziloglu was advised by Mr. Galvan that the client goal for CRIL during this <br />funding cycle was 30 but will more likely be close to 150 before the end of the year. <br />Abode Services — HOPE Street Outreach — Mr. Martinez noted that the mission of HOPE is to <br />end homelessness by advocating for removal or barriers. He commented on the work that <br />HOPE does with the Pleasanton Police and others to identify homeless in the area. Mr. <br />Martinez advised that a total of 37 referrals had been received during the six months of the year <br />and 44 homeless have been identified in Pleasanton. HOPE personnel visit with the homeless <br />regularly to try and promote long-term stability. A total of 181 hours of service has been <br />provided to date with housing being found for two disabled individuals. <br />Abode Services — Tri -Valley Rapid Rehousing Program — Mr. Guel advised that the program <br />goal was to house 6 to 10 individuals and to date two have been placed in permanent housing <br />with a remaining 7 active participants. <br />Chairperson Soby questioned whether the two individuals had been housed in the Tri -Valley <br />Commissioner Kiziloglu informed Mr. Guel that an individual had reached out to her and advised <br />that Abode had not responded to them. Mr. Guel provided information about Abode's track <br />record regarding follow-ups and assessments. He discussed the program outline and noted <br />that it is not always possible to make contact with individuals because they have moved and <br />don't have phone access, etc. <br />Mr. Hernandez asked Commissioner Kiziloglu to provide him with contact information for the <br />individual she is referring to so he and Mr. Guel can get in touch with the person. <br />Commissioner Kiziloglu asked for information about the different programs Abode provides. Mr. <br />Guel provided information about the different services Abode provides with specifics about the <br />Rapid Rehousing Program. <br />Commissioner Kiziloglu questioned whether Abodes puts people into Section 8 Housing and <br />expressed concern about the difference programs provided by Abode. Mr. Guel advised that <br />Abode has been able to offer help and advocate for individuals trying to get Section 8 Housing. <br />Mr. Hernandez provided details about Abodes services and the Coordinated Entry Program <br />through Alameda County, advising that the City of Pleasanton is not funding a Coordinated <br />Entry Program. <br />f'u-c' -h- <br />
