THE CITY OF <br /> —�. _ ,- - PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> pLEASANTON© AGENDA REPORT <br /> March 14, 2019 <br /> Item 4 <br /> TITLE: REVIEW AND RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE DESIGN OF THE <br /> DOWNTOWN TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR PARKING LOT <br /> IMPROVEMENTS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City is working to expand the existing parking lot on the transportation corridor <br /> between Bernal Avenue and Abbie Street to increase parking for and connectivity to the <br /> downtown, and implement the transportation corridor plan, following the Firehouse Arts <br /> Center parking lot design elements. The project will provide 140 parking stalls, a <br /> minimum 8-foot-wide concrete pedestrian path, and landscaping to enhance the path, <br /> while addressing transition conflicts and the concerns of the adjacent property owners. <br /> The project target is to start construction late summer, with completion in early 2020. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Review the design lay-out of the proposed project. <br /> 2. Receive staff presentation <br /> 3. Provide a recommendation to approve the design lay-out with comments as <br /> necessary <br /> FINACIAL STATEMENT <br /> These parking lot improvements will be funded through the Capital Improvement <br /> Program. <br />
