City Council 2019-2020 Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization Process <br /> Mr. Beaudin provided information about the Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization <br /> Process noting that for the past number of years City Council has adopted two-year <br /> work plans designed to provide the community with Council's vision for projects, while <br /> also providing needed policy direction for the City Manager for directing resources <br /> and preparing the annual budget and capital improvement plan. <br /> Commissioners were advised that City Council's goals and objectives are organized <br /> into the following twelve categories that reflect an overview of short- and long-term <br /> objectives: <br /> 1. Develop Bernal Community Park <br /> 2. General Plan Implementation <br /> 3. Maintain Fiscal Responsibility <br /> 4. Address Affordable Housing <br /> 5. Implement Improved Traffic Circulation Measures <br /> 6. Foster Economic Development <br /> 7. Strengthen Youth Programs, Services and Activities <br /> 8. Assure a Safe and Secure Community <br /> 9. Protect and Enhance Pleasanton's Quality of Life, including Downtown <br /> 10.Pursue Environmental Awareness, Health, Land Use and Preservation Issues <br /> 11.Operate an Effective and Cost-Efficient Government <br /> 12.Establish Integrated Initiatives for Organizational Success <br /> Mr. Beaudin provided information about not-yet completed projects from the previous <br /> Two-Year Work Plan and the seventy-two (72) projects identified on the 2019/2020 <br /> City Council Work Plan. He noted that to ensure the greatest number of prioritized <br /> projects are completed within the two-year work plan, commissions are being asked <br /> to recommend, identify and prioritize projects. <br /> The Commission was advised by Mr. Beaudin that based on community input, <br /> existing amenities, existing Master Plans, and City Council goal categories, staff is <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> February 14, 2019 <br /> Page 2 <br />
