City Council 2019-2020 Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization Process Mr. Dolan provided information about the Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization Process that was adopted by City Council 13+ years ago, noting that the City Council 2019-2020 Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization Process allows Council's shared vision to be shared with the City Manager who provides needed policy direction for directing City resources that includes preparing an annual budget and capital improvement plan. Mr. Dolan reviewed with the Commission details about the City Council Vision Statement, General Plan, Strategic Objectives and the Two-Year Work Plan. He noted that City Council's current goals and objectives are organized into the following categories: • Develop Bernal Community Park • General Plan Implementation • Maintain Fiscal Responsibility • Address Affordable Housing • Implement Improved Traffic Circulation Measures • Foster Economic Development • Strengthen Youth Programs, Services and Activities • Assure a Safe and Secure Community • Protect and Enhance Pleasanton's Quality of Life, including Downtown • Pursue Environmental Awareness, Health, Land Use and Preservation Issues • Operate an Effective and Cost-Efficient Government • Establish Integrated Initiatives for Organizational Success Commissioners were advised by Mr. Dolan that the draft 2019-2020 Work Plan has been updated to include potential priority projects identified by the public, goals provided by the mayor and councilmembers, and projects identified by City staff. He noted that of the 72 priorities identified in the Work Plan, one has been identified as Library related and was previously approved by City Council, that is the Library and Civic Center Plan.
