City Council 2019-2020 Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization Process <br /> Mr. Dolan provided information about the Two-Year Work Plan Prioritization Process that was <br /> adopted by City Council 13+ years ago, noting that the City Council 2019-2020 Two-Year Work <br /> Plan Prioritization Process allows Council's shared vision to be shared with the City Manager <br /> who provides needed policy direction for directing City resources that includes preparing an <br /> annual budget and capital improvement plan. <br /> Mr. Dolan reviewed with the Commission details about the City Council Vision Statement, <br /> General Plan, Strategic Objectives and the Two-Year Work Plan. He noted that City Council's <br /> current goals and objectives are organized into the following categories: <br /> • Develop Bernal Community Park <br /> • General Plan Implementation <br /> • Maintain Fiscal Responsibility <br /> • Address Affordable Housing <br /> • Implement Improved Traffic Circulation Measures <br /> • Foster Economic Development <br /> • Strengthen Youth Programs, Services and Activities <br /> • Assure a Safe and Secure Community <br /> • Protect and Enhance Pleasanton's Quality of Life, including Downtown <br /> • Pursue Environmental Awareness, Health, Land Use and Preservation Issues <br /> • Operate an Effective and Cost-Efficient Government <br /> • Establish Integrated Initiatives for Organizational Success <br /> Commissioners were advised by Mr. Dolan that the draft 2019-2020 Work Plan has been <br /> updated to include potential priority projects identified by the public, goals provided by the <br /> mayor and councilmembers, and projects identified by City staff. He noted that of the 72 <br /> priorities identified in the Work Plan, one has been identified as Library related and was <br /> previously approved by City Council, that is the Library and Civic Center Plan. <br /> Library Commission <br /> February 7,2019 <br /> Page 2 <br />
