Said leaves shall be reported to the Director of Human <br /> Resources and Labor Relations. <br /> During said leave, an employee shall not accrue vacation or sick leave benefits or be <br /> eligible to be paid for holidays, nor shall such time be considered as service time. <br /> B. Jury Leave <br /> Management and confidential employees called or required to serve as a juror or <br /> whose presence is required in court as a result of being called for jury duty shall be <br /> entitled to paid leave from their duties with the City during the period of such service. <br /> The employee shall be paid the difference between their full salary and any payment <br /> received, except travel, for such duty. <br /> C. Military Leave <br /> Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the provisions of federal and state <br /> law, and by Council Resolution 01-112. All employees entitled to military leave shall <br /> give the Department Head and City Manager an opportunity within the limits of military <br /> regulations to determine when such leave shall be taken. <br /> D. Extended Medical Leave <br /> An employee who is temporarily disabled from work due to a medical condition may, <br /> upon written request to the Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations, be <br /> granted by the City Manager a leave of absence without pay for a period not to exceed <br /> 12 weeks beyond the exhaustion of any accrued sick and vacation leave except as <br /> provided by federal and state medical leave law. Upon a recommendation by the <br /> Department Head, the City Manager may extend the leave for up to an additional four <br /> weeks. Such request for medical leave will be considered only upon provision of a <br /> physician's statement attesting to said disability and in conformance with applicable <br /> state and federal leave laws. <br /> During extended medical leave, an employee on an unpaid status shall not accrue <br /> Page 22 of 44 <br />
