THE CITY OF n <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> February 5, 2019 <br /> Library and Recreation <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE PROPOSED PUBLIC ARTWORK, "POLLINATORS," TO <br /> BE LOCATED AT THE OAK WOODLAND AT BERNAL COMMUNITY PARK <br /> SUMMARY <br /> "Pollinators"is a 9-foot high gage laser cut stainless steel sculpture commissioned by <br /> the City of Pleasanton (Attachment 1). The proposed location for the art piece is the <br /> Oak Woodland at Bernal Community Park. The Public Art Selection Sub-Committee <br /> (PASS), the Civic Arts Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission have <br /> reviewed the proposed concept for the art piece and recommend the piece be placed in <br /> the Oak Woodland at Bernal Community Park (Attachment 2). <br /> CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the location of the public artwork, "Pollinators", at the north end of the Oak <br /> Woodland near Oak Vista Way and Bernal Avenue. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the location of the public artwork, "Pollinators", at the north end of the Oak <br /> Woodland near Oak Vista Way and Bernal Avenue. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Consider approval of the location of the public artwork, "Pollinators," at the north end of <br /> the Oak Woodland near Oak Vista Way and Bernal Avenue. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The artist for this project will be compensated $27,000. Artist compensation will be <br /> funded through the Public Art Acquisition Fund #50550110-440109 that has $33,913 <br /> available. Ongoing maintenance is projected to be $2,000 per year for this piece and <br /> will be funded through the Public Art Maintenance Fund #50550120-430107. <br />
